HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL TRANSAXLE CASE PROTECTOR

    Tech Tips


      Perform this step if either of the following conditions is met:

    • The transaxle case protector is cracked.

    • The seal is peeled off or worn out.

      Install the transaxle case protector to the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly with the 2 bolts and a new clip.

      Torque:
      7.0 N*m  { 71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf }

      Note

      Be sure to install the transaxle case protector in the installation direction shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL OUTLET OIL COOLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *2 Outlet Oil Cooler Tube Sub-assembly
      *3 No. 1 Oil Cooler Tube Clamp

      Install the No. 1 oil cooler tube clamp with the bolt shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }
    2. A01NMQI

      Install the oil cooler tube union with a new gasket.

      Torque:
      34 N*m  { 347 kgf*cm, 25 ft.*lbf }

      *4 No. 2 Oil Cooler Tube Clamp

      Temporarily install the outlet oil cooler tube sub-assembly.

    4. Install the No. 2 oil cooler tube clamp with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.2 N*m  { 84 kgf*cm, 73 in.*lbf }

    5. Using a union nut wrench (17 mm), install the outlet oil cooler tube sub-assembly while holding the union with a wrench.

      Torque:
      34 N*m  { 347 kgf*cm, 25 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE BRACKET


    1. A01NL6Q

      Install the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET


    1. A01NMIPE01

      Install the 2 wire harness clamp brackets with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.4 N*m  { 85 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf, (for Bolt A) }
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf, (for Bolt B) }

  5. INSTALL NO. 2 TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE BRACKET


    1. A01NMYZ

      Install the No. 2 transmission control cable bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

  6. INSTALL HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Make sure that the knock pins are installed on the engine.

    2. A01NKPCE01

      Install the hybrid vehicle transaxle with the 10 bolts shown in the illustration to the engine.

      Torque:
      Bolt A
      64 N*m  { 653 kgf*cm, 47 ft.*lbf }
      Torque:
      Bolt B
      46 N*m  { 469 kgf*cm, 34 ft.*lbf }
      Torque:
      Bolt C
      64 N*m  { 653 kgf*cm, 47 ft.*lbf }
      Torque:
      Bolt D
      43 N*m  { 438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • Do not reuse bolt B.

      • Do not forcibly pry on the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

      • Do not apply grease either to the splines or to the input shaft.

  7. INSTALL HYBRID TRANSAXLE MASS DAMPER


    1. Install a new gasket and the hybrid transaxle mass damper.

      Torque:
      39 N*m  { 400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf }

  8. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CASE COVER


    1. A01NN07

      Install the automatic transmission case cover with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      7.0 N*m  { 71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf }

  9. INSTALL FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET


    1. A01NKQ5

      Install the front engine mounting bracket with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      64 N*m  { 653 kgf*cm, 47 ft.*lbf }

  10. INSTALL NO. 3 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CASE COVER


    1. A01NJ0D

      Install the No. 3 automatic transmission case cover with the 2 bolts and clip.

      Torque:
      8.4 N*m  { 85 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf }
    2. A01NK7O

      Install the No. 3 transmission control cable bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

  11. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE


    1. Connect the 4 connectors and 8 wire harness clamps to the hybrid vehicle transaxle.

  12. INSTALL MANIFOLD STAY

      Install the manifold stay with the bolt and nut.

      Torque:
      Bolt
      34 N*m  { 347 kgf*cm, 25 ft.*lbf }
      Nut
      35 N*m  { 357 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf }

  13. INSTALL FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY


    1. A01NIFI

      Install the engine mounting insulator RH and LH with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      95 N*m  { 969 kgf*cm, 70 ft.*lbf }

    2. Install the HV transaxle mass damper with the bolt.

      Torque:
      14 N*m  { 138 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }
    3. A01NLNS

      Install the front engine mounting insulator with the bolt.

      Torque:
      87 N*m  { 887 kgf*cm, 64 ft.*lbf }
    4. A01NL9J

      Install the rear engine mounting insulator assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      75 N*m  { 765 kgf*cm, 55 ft.*lbf }
    5. A01NMHO

      Connect the engine wire with the 2 clamps.
