THROTTLE BODY REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION (w/ Air Suspension)

  2. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the windshield wiper motor and link assembly Click here.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER CAP (w/ Air Suspension)

      Remove the 3 nuts and front shock absorber cap.

  4. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

      Disconnect the connector (w/ Windshield Deicer).

    2. Disengage the grommet and clamp, and separate the wire harness.

    3. A01NK8L

      Remove the 6 nuts, 4 bolts and outer cowl top panel sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. A01NJD8

      Disconnect the connector (w/ Windshield Deicer).

    2. Disengage the grommet and clamp, and separate the wire harness.

    3. A01NMSU

      Remove the 6 nuts, 4 bolts and outer cowl top panel sub-assembly.

  6. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01NL7M

      Hold the front of the V-bank cover sub-assembly and raise it to disengage the 2 retainers on the front of the V-bank cover sub-assembly. Continue to raise the V-bank cover sub-assembly to disengage the 2 retainers on the rear of the V-bank cover sub-assembly and remove the V-bank cover sub-assembly.

      Note

      Attempting to disengage both front and rear retainers at the same time may cause the V-bank cover sub-assembly to break.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  8. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (for Engine)

    Note

    Do not remove the radiator cap sub-assembly, cylinder block drain cock plugs or radiator drain cock plug while the engine and radiator assembly are still hot. Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns. (a) Loosen the radiator drain cock plug.


    1. Loosen the radiator drain cock plug.

    2. Loosen the cylinder block drain cock plug. (for Bank 1)

    3. Loosen the cylinder block drain cock plug. (for Bank 2, w/ Cylinder Block Drain Cock Plug)

    4. Remove the radiator cap sub-assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Collect the engine coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.

  9. REMOVE INTAKE AIR RESONATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the 3 clamps and separate the water hose from the intake air resonator sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and intake air resonator sub-assembly from the inverter with converter assembly.

  10. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CLEANER INLET


    1. A01NIJ9

      Remove the 2 bolts and inlet No. 2 air cleaner.

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET


    1. A01NIJF

      Disconnect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose from the inlet No. 1 air cleaner.

    2. Remove the bolt and inlet No. 1 air cleaner.

  12. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH HOSE

      Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector and wire harness clamp.

    2. Separate the fuel vapor feed hose from the 2 hose clamps.

    3. A01NM5Q

      Disconnect the ventilation hose.

    4. Loosen the hose clamp and separate the air cleaner hose from the throttle body.

    5. A01NMYJ

      Remove the 2 bolts and remove the air cleaner assembly with hose.

  13. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY


    1. A01NLG8

      Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses from the throttle body.

    2. Disconnect the throttle body connector and wire harness clamp.

    3. A01NJ9P

      Remove the 4 bolts, throttle body and wire harness clamp stay.

    4. A01NLCX

      Remove the gasket from the intake air surge tank assembly.
