    CHECK THROTTLE BODY


    1. Check the throttle control motor operating sound.


      1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

      2. When depressing the accelerator pedal, check the operating sound of the motor. Make sure that no friction noises are emitted from the motor.

        If friction noise exists, replace the throttle body.

    2. Check the throttle position sensor.


      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the intelligent tester on.

      3. Set the vehicle to the "Inspection Mode" (Click here).

      4. Start the engine without operating the accelerator pedal.

        Note:

        If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.

      5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Engine speed.

      6. Check that the MIL is not illuminated and that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off after the engine is warmed up.

        Standard
        Condition Engine Idle Speed
        A/C is switched off 850 to 950 rpm
        Note:
        • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.

        • Make sure that the shift lever is in P.
