LIGHTING SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:B2412, B2413

DESCRIPTION

Each swivel motor receives a signal from the AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) to operate and sends a signal indicating the direction of the headlight and condition of the headlight swivel motor to the AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

   CHECK FOR DTC

   
   

   1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

   2. Check for the DTCs (Click here).

      OK
      DTC B2412 or B2413 is not output.

   PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER

   
   

   1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

   3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

   4. Start the engine.

   5. Enter the following menus: Body / AFS / Active Test.

   6. Check that the swivel motors operate.

   CHECK HEADLIGHT UNIT (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR)

   
   

   1. Replace the headlight unit (headlight swivel motor) with a new or normally functioning one (Click here).

   2. Check for DTCs (Click here).

      OK
      DTC B2412 or B2413 is not output.

   CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - AFS ECU)

   
   
   1. 

      Disconnect the A53 AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) connector.

   2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A53-14 (IGS) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

   CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - BODY GROUND)

   
   

   1. Disconnect the A53 AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) connector.

   2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A53-22 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

   CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY)

   
   

   1. Disconnect the A53 AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) connector.

   2. Disconnect the A71 headlight assembly LH connector or A73 headlight assembly RH connector.

   3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Reconnect the A53 AFS ECU (headlight swivel ECU assembly) connector.

   2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
