CHARGING SYSTEM DTC CHECK / CLEAR


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Charging Control / DTC.

    5. Check the DTC(s) and freeze frame data, and then write them down.

    6. Check the details of the DTC(s) Click here.

  2. CLEAR DTC (Using an intelligent tester)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Charging Control / DTC.

    5. Clear the DTCs.

  3. CLEAR DTC (Without using intelligent tester)


    1. Remove the AM2 fuse from the engine room relay block (located inside the engine compartment) and wait for more than 60 seconds before reinstalling is.

      The above mentioned 60 second period is applicable when the cabin temperature is approximately 25°C (77°F). If the cabin temperature is low (for example -30°C (-22°F), it may take 300 seconds or more to clear the DTCs.

    • The chart shows the minimum length of time necessary to clear the DTCs when the temperature is between 25°C (77°F) and -30°C (-22°F).

    • Be sure to clear the DTCs after inspecting or repairing the charging system, and then confirm that these DTCs do not recur.

    • Do not remove the fuse to clear the DTCs until the troubleshooting procedure is completed.
