DESCRIPTION

The No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear right center sensor) is installed on the rear bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear right center sensor). If the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear right center sensor) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note:

If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the LEXUS parking assist-sensor system on. Then clear the DTCs (Click here).

    CHECK DTC OUTPUT


    1. Check for DTCs (Click here).

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      Only DTC C1AE8 is output A
      DTC C1AE8 and C1AED are output B
      No DTCs are output C

  2. Click here

    REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR RIGHT CENTER SENSOR)


    1. Replace the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear right center sensor) with a known good one (Click here).

      Tip:

      All of the sensors are interchangeable. To confirm whether a sensor is functioning normally, switch it with a known good sensor from the other end of the vehicle.
