DESCRIPTION

The No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left center sensor) is installed on the rear bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left center sensor). If the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left center sensor) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note:
  • If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the LEXUS parking assist-sensor system on. Then clear the DTCs (Click here).

  • Depending on the parts that are replaced or operations that are performed during vehicle inspection or maintenance, calibration of other systems may be needed (Click here).

    CHECK DTC OUTPUT


    1. Check for DTCs (Click here).

      Only DTC C1AE7 is output A
      DTC C1AE7 and C1AED are output B
      No DTCs are output C

  2. Click here

    REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR LEFT CENTER SENSOR)


    1. Replace the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear left center sensor) with a known good one (Click here).

      Tip:

      All of the sensors are interchangeable. To confirm whether a sensor is functioning normally, switch it with a known good sensor from the other end of the vehicle.
