DESCRIPTION

The multi-media module receiver assembly and combination meter mirror ECU are connected via AVC-LAN communication.

When an AVC-LAN communication error occurs between the multi-media module receiver assembly and combination meter mirror ECU, this DTC will be stored.

Tip:
  • Even if no fault is present, this DTC may be stored depending on the battery condition or engine start voltage.

  • The multi-media module receiver assembly is the master unit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note:

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.


  • w/ G-BOOK System:
  • When replacing the multi-media module receiver assembly or telematics transceiver, perform vehicle contract setting (w/ Telematics Transceiver) (Click here).

  • When replacing the multi-media module receiver assembly, perform vehicle contract setting (w/o Telematics Transceiver) (Click here).

PROCEDURE

    CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)


    1. Check for optional components.


      1. Check that optional components (including associated wiring) which generate radio waves are not installed.

        Tip:
        • Electrical noise from radio waves generated by optional components or the wiring for those components may affect AVC-LAN communication.

        • This DTC may be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs due to electrical noise.


  2. Click here

    REMOVE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING)


    1. Remove optional components (including associated wiring).

      Note:

      Do not remove optional components or associated wiring without the permission of the customer.


  3. Click here

    CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

    2. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      OK
      No DTCs are output.

  4. Click here

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER MIRROR ECU POWER SOURCE)


    1. Disconnect the H1 combination meter mirror ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H1-5 (ES) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H1-2 (B) - H1-5 (ES) Always 11 to 14 V
      H1-3 (ACC) - H1-5 (ES) Engine switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V
      H1-1 (IG) - H1-5 (ES) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

  5. Click here

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER MIRROR ECU - MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the H1 combination meter mirror ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the G36 multi-media module receiver assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H1-10 (MPX1) - G36-24 (TX2+) Always Below 1 Ω
      H1-11 (MPX2) - G36-25 (TX2-) Always Below 1 Ω
      H1-10 (MPX1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H1-11 (MPX2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. Click here

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER MIRROR ECU


    1. Replace the combination meter mirror ECU (Click here).

    2. Clear the DTCs (Click here).

    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      OK
      No DTCs are output.
