BRAKE BOOSTER (for LHD) REMOVAL

Note

Make sure to release vacuum from the brake booster before removing the master cylinder from the brake booster.


  1. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  2. SEPARATE ENGINE ROOM MAIN WIRE


    1. A019NSG

      Disengage the 2 clamps.

    2. A019LAM

      Raise the lever while pushing the lock on the lever, and disconnect the ECM connector.

    3. A019OZV

      Disengage the 6 clamps and separate the engine room main wire.

  3. DISCONNECT VACUUM HOSE


    1. for 1AR-FE:


      1. A019KVR

        Remove the 2 nuts and separate the vacuum tube from the body.

    2. A019LB4

      Slide the clip and disconnect the vacuum hose.

  4. REMOVE BRAKE VACUUM CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the vacuum check valve assembly from the brake booster assembly.

  5. REMOVE CHECK VALVE GROMMET


    1. Remove the check valve grommet from the brake booster assembly.

  6. DISCONNECT FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the fuel vapor feed hose.

  7. SEPARATE NO. 5 FRONT BRAKE TUBE


    1. A019OCN

      Disconnect the front flexible hose LH from the No. 5 front brake tube.

    2. A019NZQ

      Disengage the grommet of the No. 5 front brake tube.

    3. A019MKI

      Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the No. 5 front brake tube.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the brake lines or clamps. If any parts are damaged, replace them with new ones.

    4. Disengage the clamp and separate the No. 5 front brake tube from the body.

  8. SEPARATE NO. 1 FRONT BRAKE TUBE ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the 3 clamps and separate the No. 1 front brake tube assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the brake lines or clamps. If any parts are damaged, replace them with new ones.

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A019N4V

      Remove the 2 screws <D>.

    2. A019K8G

      Disengage the claw and 2 guides as shown in the illustration.

    3. Disconnect each connector.

    4. Disengage each clamp and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

  10. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING

      Remove the brake pedal return spring from the push rod pin and instrument panel reinforcement.

  11. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS


    1. A019MPQ

      Remove the clip and push rod pin, and separate the brake master cylinder push rod clevis from the brake pedal sub-assembly.

  12. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY


    1. A019MYW

      Remove the 4 nuts and brake booster assembly.

      Note

      Do not damage the brake lines.

  13. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS


    1. Loosen the lock nut, and remove the brake master cylinder push rod clevis and lock nut from the brake booster assembly.

  14. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET


    1. Remove the brake booster gasket from the brake booster assembly.
