SHIFT LEVER INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY

    Note

    Check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in neutral.

      Slide the slider of the transmission control cable in the direction indicated by the arrow and pull the lock piece outward.

      Turn the lock nut of the transmission control cable counterclockwise. While holding the lock nut, push in the stopper.

    3. Connect the outer part of the transmission control cable to the shift lever retainer.

      Note

      The lock nut is fully seated against the shift lever retainer.

      Install the transmission control cable end to the shift lever assembly.

      Note


      • Check that the lock piece is pulled up.

      • Install the cable end all the way to the base of the pin.

    5. A019NSH

      Install the shift lever assembly with the 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    6. Connect the 3 clamps to the shift lever assembly.

    7. Connect the 2 connectors.

      Push the lock piece into the adjuster case.

      Note


      • Check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in neutral.

      • Securely push in the lock piece until the slider lock is engaged.

  2. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX (for LHD)

      Engage the 3 guides as shown in the illustration.

    2. Engage the 2 clamps.

    3. Install the 3 clips.

    4. Install the console box with the 5 screws <D>.

  3. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX (for RHD)

      Engage the 3 guides as shown in the illustration.

    2. Engage the 2 clamps.

    3. Install the 2 clips.

    4. Install the console box with the 5 screws <D>.

  4. INSTALL FRONT CONSOLE BOX COVER

      Connect the connector.

    2. Engage the 5 guides and 2 clips, and install the front console box cover.

  5. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL


    1. A019KVZ

      Engage the 7 clips to install the lower instrument panel finish panel as shown in the illustration.

  6. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

      Engage the 2 guides, claw and 2 clips to install the instrument panel finish panel as shown in the illustration.

  7. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect each connector.

    2. Engage the 8 clips and 2 guides.

    3. Install the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly with the 2 screws <D>.

      Engage the 2 claws to close the cover as shown in the illustration.

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE


    1. Connect each connector.

    2. A019N7C

      Engage the 4 claws and 2 guides to install the No. 1 switch hole base.

  9. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH LH


    1. A019K28

      Engage the 6 clips to install the instrument panel garnish LH.

  10. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY


    1. A019JU4E01

      Engage the 8 guides as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Make sure to install the rear console box assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow (1). Failure to do so will damage the console box and front seat.

    2. Install the rear console box assembly with the 2 screws and 4 bolts.

  11. INSTALL CONSOLE REAR END PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. w/o Rear Seat Entertainment System:


      1. Engage the 5 claws and 6 clips to install the console rear end panel sub-assembly.

    2. w/ Rear Seat Entertainment System:


      1. Connect each connector.

      2. Engage the 5 claws and 6 clips to install the console rear end panel sub-assembly.

  12. INSTALL NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT


    1. Install the No. 2 console box duct with the 2 screws.

    2. Connect each connector and engage the 2 clamps.

  13. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the clamp.

    2. Connect each connector.

      Engage the 3 claws and 3 clips.

    4. w/o Seat Heater System:


      1. Connect the connector to the console box hole cover.

    5. w/ Seat Heater System:


      1. Connect the connector.

      2. Engage the 6 claws to install the seat heater switch with console box hole cover.

      Engage the 4 claws and 4 clips to install the upper console panel sub-assembly.

  14. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A019LZO

      Turn the shift lever knob sub-assembly clockwise to install the shift lever knob sub-assembly.

  15. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  16. INSPECT SUSPENSION CONTROL SYSTEM (w/ Air Suspension)


    1. Inspect the suspension control system Click here.

  17. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION


    1. When moving the shift lever from P to R with the engine switch on (IG) and the brake pedal depressed, make sure that the shift lever moves smoothly and correctly into position.

    2. Start the engine and make sure that the vehicle moves forward when moving the shift lever from N to D and moves rearward when moving the shift lever to R.

      If the operation cannot be performed as specified, inspect the park/neutral position switch assembly and check the shift lever assembly installation condition.

  18. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION


    1. Apply the parking brake and move the shift lever to N.

    2. Remove the console box Click here.

      Disconnect the shift lock control ECU connector and transmission control switch wire connector.

    4. Disconnect the 3 clamps.

    5. Remove the 4 nuts and shift lever assembly.

      Disconnect the end of the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever assembly.

    7. Turn the lock nut counterclockwise. While holding the lock nut, disconnect the transmission control cable from the shift lever retainer.

      • Check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in neutral.

      • Securely push in the lock piece until the slider lock is engaged.

    16. After adjusting the shift lever position, check the operation and function of the shift lever. If there is a problem, adjust the position again.
