If the following conditions are detected while the cruise control is operating, the system clears the stored vehicle speed in the ECM and cancels the cruise control operation.

Vehicle Condition Auto Cancel Condition Re-operation Condition

  • Cruise main indicator light goes off

  • Master warning light comes on

  • "CHECK CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM" is displayed

  • Warning sound is heard


  • There is open or short in stop light switch circuit

  • There is problem with vehicle speed signal

Turn cruise control main switch off

  • Cruise main indicator light goes off

  • Master warning light comes on

  • "CHECK CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM" is displayed

  • Warning sound is heard


  • There is problem with input circuit of stop light switch

  • There is problem with cancel circuit


  • Turn engine switch off

  • Turn cruise control main switch off

Cruise main indicator light remains on

Under the following conditions, the stored vehicle speed is maintained:


  • Vehicle speed is lower than low speed limit (approx. 40 km/h (25 mph)) while driving with cruise control on

  • VSC system is operated

Push cruise control main switch to + RES

  • Vehicle speed is lower than stored speed by approx. 16 km/h (10 mph) or more

Push cruise control main switch to - SET
Cruise indicator light goes off
  • There is problem with throttle position sensor and motor

Turn cruise control main switch off then on again
