RADIATOR REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION (w/ Air Suspension)

  2. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)

    Note

    After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  4. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY (for Standard)

  5. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT


    1. Loosen the radiator drain cock plug and drain the coolant.

      Note

      Do not remove the radiator cap, cylinder block drain cock plugs and radiator drain cock plug while the engine and radiator are still hot. Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.

      Tech Tips

      Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.

    2. Remove the radiator cap from the radiator assembly.

    3. Loosen the 2 cylinder block drain cock plugs.

  6. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A019LVN

      Hold the front of the V-bank cover sub-assembly and raise it to disengage the 2 retainers on the front of the V-bank cover sub-assembly. Continue to raise the V-bank cover sub-assembly to disengage the 2 retainers on the rear of the V-bank cover sub-assembly and remove the V-bank cover sub-assembly.

      Note

      Attempting to disengage both front and rear retainers at the same time may cause the V-bank cover sub-assembly to break.

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CLEANER INLET


    1. A019O60

      Disconnect the 2 vacuum hose clamps from the No. 2 air cleaner inlet.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 air cleaner inlet.

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET

      Disconnect the vacuum hose clamp from the No. 1 air cleaner inlet.

    2. Remove the bolt and No. 1 air cleaner inlet.

  9. REMOVE BATTERY


    1. Disconnect the positive (+) cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.

      Loosen the nut, and remove the bolt from the battery clamp.

    3. Remove the battery and battery tray.

  10. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the radiator reserve tank hose from the radiator.

    2. A019N1D

      Disconnect the 2 clamps and remove the bolt and radiator reserve tank from the radiator.

  11. DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE

      Disconnect the No. 1 radiator hose from the radiator.

  12. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

      Disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose from the radiator.

  13. DISCONNECT INLET OIL COOLER HOSE

      Disconnect the inlet oil cooler hose and clamp from the radiator.

  14. DISCONNECT OUTLET OIL COOLER HOSE

      Remove the outlet oil cooler hose.

  15. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly.

  16. REMOVE HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. A019LXM

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and high pitched horn assembly.

  17. REMOVE LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and low pitched horn assembly.

  18. REMOVE SMOG VENTILATION SENSOR

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt

    3. Disengage the guide and remove the smog ventilation sensor.

  19. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER

  21. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT

      Disconnect the 3 clamps of the hood lock control cable and remove the 5 bolts and upper radiator support.

  22. REMOVE NO. 2 RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 radiator support cushions from the radiator.

      *1 Cooler bracket
      *2 Cooler compressor bracket

      Remove the 4 bolts, 4 brackets and radiator assembly.

      Disconnect the 3 wire harness clamps and connector.

    4. A019LAO

      Remove the radiator assembly and fan assembly with motor.

      Note

      Do not apply any excessive force to the cooler condenser assembly or pipe when removing the radiator assembly.

    5. Remove the 2 lower radiator supports from the radiator.

      Remove the 2 bolts.

      Release the claw and pull up the fan assembly with motor from the radiator assembly to remove the fan assembly with motor.
