CANISTER INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT CHARCOAL CANISTER ASSEMBLY


    1. Visually check the charcoal canister.

        Visually check the charcoal canister for cracks or damage.

        If cracks or damage are found, replace the charcoal canister assembly.

    2. Check canister operation.

        Blow 5 kPa (0.1 kgf/cm2, 0.7 psi) of compressed air into port A and check that air flows without resistance from port B and port C.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the charcoal canister assembly.

    3. Check for air leaks.

        Apply a vacuum of 20 kPa (150 mmHg, 5.91 in.Hg) to port A. Check that the vacuum does not decrease when port B and port C are closed, and check that the vacuum does not decrease when port B is released.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the charcoal canister assembly.
