CONNECT INTELLIGENT TESTER TO DLC3*
If the display indicates a communication fault with the tester, inspect the DLC3. When any CAN communication system DTCs are output, perform troubleshooting on the CAN communication system first.
CHECK DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA*
Check for DTCs (Click here) and freeze frame data (Click here).
Record or print DTCs and freeze frame data if necessary.
CLEAR DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA*
Clear the DTCs and freeze frame data (Click here).
CONDUCT VISUAL INSPECTION
SELECT CHECK MODE DIAGNOSIS*
Switch the ECM from normal mode to check mode.
Refer to Check Mode Procedure (Click here).
CONFIRM PROBLEM SYMPTOMS
Confirm problem symptoms.
If the engine does not start, first perform the "Check DTC" procedure and "Conduct Basic Inspection" procedure below.
