SLIDING ROOF HOUSING INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the sliding roof housing sub-assembly with the 4 bolts and 8 nuts.

      A019NBU
      Torque:
      Nut
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }
      Bolt
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }
    2. A019LVHE01

      Connect the 4 sliding roof drain hoses.

      Note

      The clip must face toward the outside of the vehicle and also be above the lower surface of the sliding roof housing when installing the drain hoses.

  2. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A019NEP

      Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, temporarily install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly with the 4 screws.

    2. Perform a level check.

      1. Check the difference in level for "a" between the roof panel and the upper surface of the weather strip when the sliding roof glass is fully closed.

        0 + 1.0 mm (0 + 0.0394 in.)

        0 - 2.0 mm (0 - 0.0787 in.)

        B - B

        0 + 2.0 mm (0 + 0.0787 in.)

        0 - 1.0 mm (0 - 0.0394 in.)

        C - C

        0 + 1.5 mm (0 + 0.0591 in.)

        0 - 1.5 mm (0 - 0.0591 in.)

        D - D

        0 + 1.5 mm (0 + 0.0591 in.)

        0 - 1.0 mm (0 - 0.0394 in.)

        Tech Tips

        "+" represents the condition that the glass is above the panel level. "-" represents the condition that the glass is below the panel level.

    3. A019MO3E01

      Perform a gap check.


      1. Check the gap between the roof panel and roof glass.

        Note

        The gap must be even all around.

    4. A019MVF

      After adjusting the sliding roof glass, using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly with the 4 screws.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }
  3. CHECK FOR WATER LEAK


    1. After adjusting the sliding roof glass sub-assembly, check for water leaks.

    2. If there are any leaks, readjust the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.

  4. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH


    1. A019KSO

      Engage the 5 claws and install the sliding roof side garnish LH.

  5. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  6. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH

    Tech Tips


    • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Temporarily install the curtain shield airbag assembly with the 10 hooks.

      A019NHA

      Note

      Do not twist the curtain shield airbag assembly when installing it.

    4. Install 10 new bolts.

      Torque:
      9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf }
    5. Connect the curtain shield airbag connector.

      Note

      When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  7. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  11. INSPECT FOR WATER LEAK


    1. After adjusting the sliding roof glass sub-assembly, check for water leakage into the vehicle interior.

    2. If there are any leaks, readjust the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.
