SEAT BELT WARNING SYSTEM ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT


    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    2. When the driver side seat belt is not fastened, check that the driver side seat belt warning light on the combination meter assembly blinks.

    3. When the driver side seat belt is fastened, check that the driver side seat belt warning light on the combination meter assembly is off.

  2. INSPECT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT


    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    2. When the front passenger side seat belt is not fastened with the front passenger side seat occupied, check that the front passenger side seat belt warning light on the multi-media module receiver assembly*1, radio receiver assembly*2 or accessory meter assembly*3 blinks.

    3. When the front passenger side seat belt is fastened with the front passenger side seat occupied, check that the front passenger side seat belt warning light on the multi-media module receiver assembly*1, radio receiver assembly*2 or accessory meter assembly*3 is off.

  3. INSPECT SEAT BELT WARNING BUZZER

    The seat belt warning buzzer can be customized. Make sure that this function is ON Click here.


    1. Place a weight of 20 kg (44.0 lb) on the front passenger seat.

      Note

      Place the weight on the seat cushion and do not allow it to come into contact with the seatback.

    2. After turning the engine switch on (IG), if the driver seat belt is not fastened within 1.8 seconds, check that the seat belt warning buzzer in the combination meter assembly sounds at 1.2 second intervals for 6 seconds.*2

    3. Lift up the vehicle using a swing arm type lift Click here.

    4. Start the engine.

    5. When the vehicle is driven at approximately 20 km/h (12 mph) or more while the driver or front passenger side seat belt that was fastened at the previous step is unfastened, check that the buzzer in the combination meter assembly sounds at an interval of 1.2 seconds for 30 seconds*1 or 9.6 seconds*2. After that, the buzzer sounds at an interval of 0.4 seconds for 90 seconds*1 or 20 seconds*2. After that, check that the buzzer stops.

    6. After the buzzer has stopped, turn the engine switch off.

    7. Start the engine.

    8. Drive the vehicle at approximately 20 km/h (12 mph) or more while the driver or front passenger side seat belt that was fastened at the previous step is unfastened, and then check that the buzzer sounds again.

    9. After the buzzer has stopped, fasten the driver side and front passenger side seat belts. Drive the vehicle at approximately 20 km/h (12 mph) or more and unfasten the driver side or front passenger side and then check that the buzzer sounds again.

    10. After the buzzer has stopped, move the shift lever to R, and then move it to D. Drive the vehicle at approximately 20 km/h (12 mph) or more, and then check that the buzzer sounds again.
