REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SHAFT LEVER
Remove the nut, spring washer and transmission control shaft lever from the shift lever position sensor.
REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL ROD GROMMET

Remove the spacer from the transmission control rod grommet.
Remove the transmission control rod grommet from the transmission control shaft lever.
REMOVE SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR
Disconnect the shift lever position sensor connector.
Remove the nut, spring washer and transmission control shaft lever with the floor shift gear shifting rod sub-assembly from the shift lever position sensor.

Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, pry out the lock plate.
Remove the lock nut and lock plate from the shift lever position sensor.
Remove the 2 bolts and shift lever position sensor from the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
Tech Tips
Make sure that the manual shaft has not been rotated prior to installing the shift lever position sensor as the detent spring may become detached from the manual shaft.
REMOVE ELBOW
Remove the 2 elbows from the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
Remove the 2 O-rings from the 2 elbows.
REMOVE HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY TYPE T OIL SEAL

Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, remove the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly type T oil seal from the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
Note
When removing the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly type T oil seal, make sure not to damage the input shaft assembly or hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
REMOVE FLANGE YOKE ASSEMBLY
Using SST and a hammer, loosen the staked part of the lock nut.
Note
Be sure to use SST with the tapered surface facing the shaft.
Do not grind the tip of SST with a grinder or other device.
Completely loosen the staked part of the lock nut when removing it.
Do not damage the threads of the output shaft.
Using SST, secure the flange yoke assembly.
Tech Tips
Use an M8 x 1.25 bolt with an under head length of 45 mm to secure SST.

Using a 30 mm deep socket wrench, remove the lock nut from the flange yoke assembly.
Remove the flange yoke assembly from the output shaft.

Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, remove the flange yoke type V oil seal from the flange yoke assembly.
REMOVE EXTENSION HOUSING TYPE T OIL SEAL
Using SST, remove the extension housing type T oil seal from the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
REMOVE TRANSMISSION BREATHER PLUG SUB-ASSEMBLY
Remove the transmission breather plug sub-assembly from the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
DRAIN HYBRID TRANSMISSION FLUID
Tech Tips
Perform this procedure only when removing the transmission oil pan sub-assembly is necessary.
Remove the drain plug and gasket to drain the hybrid transmission fluid.
Install the drain plug and a new gasket to the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY
Remove the 18 bolts, gasket and transmission oil pan sub-assembly from the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
Remove the 2 magnets from the transmission oil pan sub-assembly.
REMOVE OIL COOLER RETURN TUBE
Remove the oil cooler return tube from the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
REMOVE OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY
Remove the 3 bolts and oil strainer assembly from the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.
