DESCRIPTION

In accordance with the shift lever position, each shift position indicator light will turn on.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR


    1. Turn the power switch on (ACC).

    2. Check that each shift position indicator light turns on correctly.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      All shift position indicator lights turn on simultaneously A
      Shift position indicator lights other than corresponding one turn on A
      Corresponding shift position indicator light does not turn on B
      No shift position indicator lights turn on B

    3. Turn the power switch off.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CHECK FOR SHORT TO GND)


    1. Disconnect the N91 power management control ECU connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N91-33 (INDP) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N91-32 (INDR) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N91-31 (INDN) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N91-22 (INDD) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N91-20 (INDM) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    3. Reconnect the N91 power management control ECU connector.

    1. Disconnect the N91 power management control ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the N163 shift position indicator connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N91-33 (INDP) or N163-8 (P) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N91-32 (INDR) or N163-7 (R) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N91-31 (INDN) or N163-3 (N) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N91-22 (INDD) or N163-2 (D) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      N91-20 (INDM) or N163-1 (S) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    4. Reconnect the N163 shift position indicator connector.

    5. Reconnect the N91 power management control ECU connector.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SHIFT POSITION SENSOR POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)


    1. Disconnect the N163 shift position indicator connector.

    2. Turn the power switch on (ACC).

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      N163-5 (PWR) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

    4. Turn the power switch off.

    5. Reconnect the N163 shift position indicator connector.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE TERMINAL ACCI)


    1. Turn the power switch on (ACC).

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A35-10 (ACCI) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

    3. Turn the power switch off.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CHECK FOR OPEN)


    1. Disconnect the N91 power management control ECU connector.

    2. Turn the power switch on (ACC).

    4. Turn the power switch off.

    5. Reconnect the N91 power management control ECU connector.

    4. Reconnect the N163 shift position indicator connector.

    5. Reconnect the N91 power management control ECU connector.
