DESCRIPTION

The EV mode signal is sent to the power management control ECU. This signal is then transmitted from the power management control ECU via CAN to the combination meter assembly to illuminate the EV mode indicator.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

If any of the following conditions are not met, EV mode may not be turned on or the mode may be canceled. (A buzzer sounds to indicate that the transition to EV mode is canceled.)

PROCEDURE


  1. ASK ABOUT VEHICLE CONDITION


    1. Check if a buzzer sounded and a message was displayed on the multi-information display when attempting to enter EV mode.

      Tech Tips

      If a buzzer sounds and a message is displayed on the multi-information display, one or more of the EV mode entry conditions have not been met. Check that all of the EV mode entry conditions have been met before pressing the combination switch assembly.

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (CAN BUS CHECK)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: System Select / CAN Bus Check.

      Result

      All of the ECUs and sensors that are currently connected to the CAN communication system are displayed. A

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HEALTH CHECK)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: System Select / Health Check.

    4. Check DTCs.

  4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (EV MODE INDICATOR)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (READY).

    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test / EV Mode Indicator.

    4. Perform the "EV Mode Indicator" Active Test.

      OK
      The EV mode indicator comes on or blinks.
    5. Turn the power switch off.

  5. READ VALUE USING GTS (EV REQUEST, EV SWITCH)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / EV request, EV Switch.

    4. Read the value displayed on the GTS.

    1. Disconnect the N59 combination switch assembly connector.
