NAME PLATE REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE EMBLEM (for Front Side)

      Apply protective tape to the front bumper cover in the area around the radiator grille emblem.

    2. Using an infrared light, heat the front bumper cover and the radiator grille emblem.

      Heating Temperature
      Item Temperature
      Front Bumper Cover 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
      Radiator Grille Emblem 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

      CAUTION:

      Do not burn yourself with the hot front bumper cover and radiator grille emblem or with the infrared light.

      Note

      Do not heat the front bumper cover and radiator grille emblem excessively.

    3. Insert piano wire between the front bumper cover and radiator grille emblem.

      Tech Tips

      Be careful of the location pin positions.

    4. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to the piano wire ends.

    5. Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the radiator grille emblem to the front bumper cover.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the front bumper cover.

    6. Remove the 2 push nuts and the radiator grille emblem.

  3. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE EMBLEM (for Rear Side)

      Apply protective tape to the luggage compartment door panel in the area around the radiator grille emblem.

    2. Using an infrared light, heat the luggage compartment door panel and the radiator grille emblem.

      Heating Temperature
      Item Temperature
      Luggage Compartment Door Panel 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
      Radiator Grille Emblem 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

      CAUTION:

      Do not burn yourself with the hot luggage compartment door panel and radiator grille emblem or with the infrared light.

  4. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR NAME PLATE

      Apply protective tape to the luggage compartment door panel in the area around the luggage compartment door name plate.

    2. Using an infrared light, heat the luggage compartment door panel and the luggage compartment door name plate.

      Luggage Compartment Door Panel 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
      Luggage Compartment Door Name Plate 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    3. Insert piano wire between the luggage compartment door panel and the luggage compartment door name plate.

    4. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to the piano wire ends.

    5. Pull the piano wire and scrape off the double-sided tape that holds the luggage compartment door name plate to the luggage compartment door panel.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the luggage compartment door panel.

    6. Remove the luggage compartment door name plate.
