OUTER MIRROR SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

   
   
   1.

      *1	Mirror Select Switch
      *2	Mirror Surface Adjust Switch
      *3	Mirror Retract Switch
      *a	Component without harness connected (Outer Mirror Switch Assembly)

      Check the switch functions.

      
      

      1. Turn the mirror select switch to the L position.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance (for left side)
         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 1 (B) - 14 (ML+) 10 (VL) - 7 (E) UP Below 1 Ω 1 (B) - 10 (VL) 14 (ML+) - 7 (E) DOWN Below 1 Ω 1 (B) - 8 (HL) 14 (ML+) - 7 (E) LEFT Below 1 Ω 1 (B) - 14 (ML+) 8 (HL) - 7 (E) RIGHT Below 1 Ω

      3. Turn the mirror select switch to the R position.

      4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance (for right side)
         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 1 (B) - 12 (MR+) 11 (VR)- 7 (E) UP Below 1 Ω 1 (B) - 11 (VR) 12 (MR+) - 7 (E) DOWN Below 1 Ω 1 (B) - 9 (HR) 12 (MR+) - 7 (E) LEFT Below 1 Ω 1 (B) - 12 (MR+) 9 (HR) - 7 (E) RIGHT Below 1 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

   2. Check the mirror retract switch. (w/ Mirror Retract Switch)

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 1 (B) - 6 (MFR) 3 (MRR) - 7 (E) Mirror retract switch retract position Below 1 Ω 1 (B) - 3 (MRR) 6 (MFR) - 7 (E) Mirror retract switch return position

         If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

2. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

      1. Turn the mirror select switch to the L position.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance (for left side)
         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 1 (B) - 14 (ML+) 10 (VL) - 7 (E) UP Below 1 Ω 1 (B) - 10 (VL) 14 (ML+) - 7 (E) DOWN Below 1 Ω 1 (B) - 8 (HL) 14 (ML+) - 7 (E) LEFT Below 1 Ω 1 (B) - 14 (ML+) 8 (HL) - 7 (E) RIGHT Below 1 Ω

      3. Turn the mirror select switch to the R position.

      4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance (for right side)
         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 1 (B) - 12 (MR+) 11 (VR)- 7 (E) UP Below 1 Ω 1 (B) - 11 (VR) 12 (MR+) - 7 (E) DOWN Below 1 Ω 1 (B) - 9 (HR) 12 (MR+) - 7 (E) LEFT Below 1 Ω 1 (B) - 12 (MR+) 9 (HR) - 7 (E) RIGHT Below 1 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.

   2. Check the mirror retract switch. (w/ Mirror Retract Switch)

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 1 (B) - 6 (MFR) 3 (MRR) - 7 (E) Mirror retract switch retract position Below 1 Ω 1 (B) - 3 (MRR) 6 (MFR) - 7 (E) Mirror retract switch return position

         If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror switch assembly.
