FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY REASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SPRING


    1. Engage the 8 hooks to install the front seat cushion spring to the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly.

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 FRONT SEAT CUSHION PROTECTOR (w/o Seat Heater System)


    1. Engage the claw to install the No. 2 front seat cushion protector to the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT SEAT CUSHION PROTECTOR (for Driver Side)


    1. Engage the claw to install the No. 1 front seat cushion protector to the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly.

  4. INSTALL SEAT TRACK ADJUSTING HANDLE


    1. Engage the 2 springs to install the seat track adjusting handle to the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly.

      Note


      • Springs must be securely engaged.

      • Install the rear end of seat track adjusting handle on the seat track lever.

  5. INSTALL LH SEAT FRONT SEAT CUSHION EDGE PROTECTOR LH


    1. Engage the 3 claws to install the LH seat front seat cushion edge protector LH.

    2. Install the screw.

  6. INSTALL LH SEAT FRONT SEAT CUSHION EDGE PROTECTOR RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. INSTALL FRONT SEAT LOWER CUSHION SHIELD LH (for Driver Side)


    1. A004HUK

      Engage the clip to install the front seat lower cushion shield LH.

    2. Engage the hook as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the screw.

  8. INSTALL FRONT SEAT LOWER CUSHION SHIELD RH (for Driver Side)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER


    1. Install the 4 front seat cushion cover wires to the separate type front seat cushion cover.

      *2 Hog Ring Pliers

      Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seat cushion cover to the separate type front seat cushion pad with 12 new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the separate type front seat cushion cover.

      • Be sure to securely install the hog rings as shown in the illustration while preventing wrinkles from forming on the separate type front seat cushion cover.

      Using hog ring pliers, install 2 new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the separate type front seat cushion cover.

      • Be sure to securely install the hog rings as shown in the illustration while preventing wrinkles from forming on the separate type front seat cushion cover.

  10. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD


    1. Temporarily install the separate type front seat cushion cover with pad to the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly

    2. Engage each hook.

    3. Engage the claw and 3 clamps to install the front seat cushion heater wire harness. (w/ Seat Heater System)

    4. Connect the occupant classification sensor connector. (for Front Passenger Side)

  11. INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT SEATBACK HOOK


    1. Install the 2 No. 1 front seatback hooks to the front seatback spring sub-assembly.

  12. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK SPRING SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 2 claws and 2 hooks to install the front seatback spring sub-assembly to the separate type front seatback spring assembly.

  13. INSTALL NO. 2 FRONT SEATBACK HOOK


    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the 2 No. 2 front seatback hooks to the separate type front seatback spring assembly.

  14. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER


    1. Install the 7 front seatback cover wires to the separate type front seatback cover.

      *2 Hog Ring Pliers

      Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seatback cover to the separate type front seatback pad with 14 new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the separate type front seatback cover.

      • Be sure to securely install the hog rings as shown in the illustration while preventing wrinkles from forming on the separate type front seat cushion cover.

  15. INSTALL FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  16. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD


    1. Temporarily install the separate type front seatback cover with pad to the separate type front seatback spring assembly.

    2. A004HIJE02

      Install the 3 brackets to the separate type front seatback spring assembly in the order shown in the illustration.

    3. Install a new nut.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

      CAUTION:


      • For vehicles with a front seat airbag assembly, the separate type front seatback cover must be securely installed. Otherwise, the front seat airbag assembly may not deploy properly.

      • Make sure that the strap is not twisted after installing the nut.

      • Install the bracket securely.

    4. Engage the 4 claws to install the 2 front seat headrest supports.

    5. Engage the 2 hooks.

      Using hog ring pliers, install 2 new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the separate type front seatback cover.

      • Be sure to securely install the hog rings as shown in the illustration while preventing wrinkles from forming on the separate type front seat cushion cover.

    7. Turn back the separate type front seatback cover.

    8. Close the 2 fasteners.

      Using hog ring pliers, install 5 new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the separate type front seatback cover.

      • Be sure to securely install the hog rings as shown in the illustration while preventing wrinkles from forming on the separate type front seat cushion cover.

  17. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK ASSEMBLY


    1. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, install the separate type front seatback assembly and No. 2 front seat travel link with 4 new bolts.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

    2. Install a new washer (for Fold Down Seat Type).

    3. Engage the claw and 4 clamps to install the front seat airbag assembly wire harness.

    4. Engage the fastener to secure the front seat airbag assembly wire harness.

    5. Engage the clamp and connect the front seat heater connector. (w/ Seat Heater System)

    6. Connect the rubber band of the separate type front seatback cover.

    7. Engage the 2 hooks.

  18. INSTALL SEAT TRACK CABLE BRACKET (for Walk in Seat Type)


    1. Install a new washer and the seat track cable bracket.

  19. INSTALL SEAT TRACK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Walk in Seat Type)


    1. Connect the seat track control cable assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the seat track control cable assembly.

    2. Engage the 2 claws to install the seat track control cable assembly.

  20. INSTALL SEAT LOCK BAND ASSEMBLY (for Fold Down Seat Type)


    1. Install the seat lock band assembly with the screw.

  21. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side)

  22. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side)

  23. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD


    1. Engage the 2 claws and 4 guides to install the front seat inner cushion shield.

  24. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD


    1. Engage the 4 claws, 5 guides and clip to install the front seat inner cushion shield.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  25. INSTALL SEAT ADJUSTER COVER CAP


    1. Engage the 3 claws to install the seat adjuster cover cap.

  26. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE (for Driver Side)


    1. Install the vertical adjusting handle with the screw.

  27. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE


    1. Engage the claw to install the reclining adjuster release handle.
