METER / GAUGE SYSTEM ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT SPEEDOMETER


    1. Check the operation.


      1. Using a speedometer tester (calibrated chassis dynamometer), check the speedometer indication according to the table below.

        Indicator Type: km/h (except Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom)

        Note

        Tire wear, over inflation, or under inflation will cause errors.

      2. Check the deviation from the acceptable range of the speedometer indication.

  2. INSPECT TACHOMETER


    1. Connect a tune-up tachometer, and start the engine.

    2. Compare the test results with the tachometer indications.

  3. INSPECT INDICATOR AND WARNING LIGHTS


    1. Check the illumination function of the warning or indicator lights listed below when turning the ignition switch to ON.

      Warning or Indicator Light Specified Condition
      LOW FUEL Warning or indicator light comes on for about 2 seconds after turning the ignition switch to ON.
      A/T OIL TEMP*1 Warning or indicator light comes on for about 2 or 3 seconds after turning the ignition switch to ON.
      Leveling*2 Warning or indicator light comes on for about 3 seconds after turning the ignition switch to ON.
      Brake
      TRC OFF
      VSC OFF
      TIRE PRESSURE*3
      VSC SPORT
      SRS Warning light comes on for about 6 seconds after turning the ignition switch to ON.
      Charge The light goes off right after the engine starts.
      Oil pressure
      MIL (Check engine warning light)
      EPS
      SLIP The light goes off 3 minutes after starting the engine.
      ABS
