Function of Main Components
Component Function
Certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly)
  • Distinguishes and verifies the ID code from the door control receiver and sends signals to the steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU), etc. in response to operated functions.

  • Performs code communication with the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) and steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU) when the engine is started.*1

  • Performs code communication with the steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU) when the engine is started.*2

Engine switch
  • Sends engine switch operation signals to the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly).

  • Uses the built-in transponder key amplifier to receive the ID code from the key when the transmitter battery is depleted, and sends the code to the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly).

ID code box (immobiliser code ECU)*1 Receives immobiliser set/unset commands from the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) via LIN communication and sends them to the ECM.
ECM Receives immobiliser unset commands from the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) and engine start request signals from the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) and starts the engine.
Steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU)

Receives a steering lock unlock signal from the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) or ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) and unlocks the steering lock.*1

Receives a steering lock unlock signal from the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) and unlocks the steering lock.*2
