  1. POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION


    1. The power door lock system locks/unlocks all the doors.

      The main body ECU (network gateway ECU) receives lock/unlock request signals from a door control switch. Then, the main body ECU (network gateway ECU) sends these request signals to the door lock motors in each door to lock/unlock each door in response to the inputs.

  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Components Function

    Power window regulator master switch assembly


    • Door control switch

    		 The door control switch on the master switch locks/unlocks all doors.

    		 Front passenger door control switch locks or unlocks all doors.
    Door courtesy light switch assembly

    • Placed on each door.

    • Detects door status (open or closed) and outputs data to main body ECU (network gateway ECU).

    • Turns on when door is opened and turns off when door is closed.

    • Built-in motor locks/unlocks the door.

    • Built-in key lock and unlock switch (key-linked) detects door key operation status (locked or unlocked) and outputs a signal to main body ECU (network gateway ECU).

    • Built-in unlock detection switch detects door status (locked or unlocked) and outputs a signal to main body ECU (network gateway ECU). This switch turns off when door is locked and turns on when door is unlocked.

    • Built-in motor locks/unlocks the door.

    • Built-in unlock detection switch detects door status (locked or unlocked) and outputs a signal to main body ECU (network gateway ECU). This switch turns off when door is locked and turns on when door is unlocked.*4
    Luggage Door Closer Assembly

    • Built-in motor unlatches door latch.

    • Built-in courtesy switch detects luggage compartment door status (open or closed) and outputs a signal to main body ECU (network gateway ECU). This switch turns on when luggage compartment door is opened and turns off when luggage compartment door is closed.

  3. SYSTEM FUNCTION


    1. This system is controlled by the main body ECU (network gateway ECU). The main body ECU (network gateway ECU) outputs signals to each door lock motor. The power door lock control system has the following functions:

      Function Outline
      Manual lock and unlock function This function can lock or unlock all doors by the door control switch operation.
      Key-linked lock and unlock function*1 This function, which is linked with the mechanical key cylinder, can lock or unlock all doors when a lock or unlock operation is effected.
      Key lock-in prevention function When the door lock operation is performed with the key is in the vehicle*2 or key in the ignition key cylinder*3, door will be locked once and immediately unlocked.
      Manual unlock prohibition function

      When the condition below is met, unlocking the vehicle using the door control switch will be prohibited:


      • The doors are locked using a key-linked operation*1, wireless key operation*3 or entry operation*2 with all doors closed.
      Double locking function*4 Prevents the doors from being unlocked through the operation of the inside door knobs and also from the outside of the vehicle.
