DESCRIPTION

The certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) monitors the communications with the steering lock actuator assembly connected to the certification LIN bus and the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU)*. DTC B2785 is stored if the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) detects a communications error between the steering lock actuator assembly connected to the certification LIN bus and the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU), and the LIN communications error (+B short, GND short, communication not possible because of noise, etc.) continues for 1 second.

Note


  • When replacing the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU)*, certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) or steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU), refer to the registration procedures for the Service Bulletin.

  • When using the GTS with the engine switch off to troubleshoot:

    Connect the GTS to the vehicle and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5-second intervals until communication between the GTS and vehicle begins.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - EACH ECU)


    1. Disconnect the D41 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the D59 steering lock actuator assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the A30 ID code box (immobiliser code ECU)* connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D41-17 (LIN) - D59-5 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      D41-17 (LIN) - A30-2 (LIN)* Always Below 1 Ω
      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D41-17 (LIN) or D59-5 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D41-17 (LIN) or A30-2 (LIN) - Body ground* Always 10 kΩ or higher

    5. Reconnect the D41 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    6. Reconnect the D59 steering lock actuator assembly connector.
