VACUUM PUMP INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL VACUUM PUMP ASSEMBLY


    1. Coat a new O-ring with engine oil, and install it.

    2. A004HJRE05

      *a Edge of Groove
      *b 2.0 to 4.0 mm (0.078 to 0.158 in.) in Diameter
      *c 1.0mm or Less

      Apply seal packing in a continuous line as shown in the illustration.

      Note


      • Clean and degrease the contact surface.

      • Install the vacuum pump assembly within 5 minutes of applying seal packing.

      Tech Tips

      When replace the vacuum pump assembly on the vehicle, apply seal packing to the vacuum pump assembly.

      *a Groove of the Vacuum Pump Assembly
      *b Claw of the Intake Camshaft

      Install the vacuum pump assembly while aligning the grooves of the vacuum pump assembly with the claws of the intake camshaft RH.

      Note

      Make sure that the O-ring is not pinched.

    4. Install the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      16 N*m  { 163 kgf*cm, 12 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL VACUUM TUBE CONNECTOR HOSE


    1. Install the vacuum tube connector hose.

  3. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER TO COWL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
