CLUTCH FLUID BLEEDING

Note

Immediately wash off any clutch fluid that comes into contact with any painted surfaces.

Tech Tips

If any work is done on the clutch system or if air in the clutch lines is suspected, bleed the air from the system.

PROCEDURE


  1. FILL CLUTCH FLUID


    1. A004KRI

      Fill the clutch fluid.

      Fluid
      SAE J1703 or FMVSS No. 116 DOT3

      Note

      Add clutch fluid to keep the level between the MIN and MAX lines of the master cylinder reservoir sub-assembly while bleeding the clutch.

  2. BLEED CLUTCH LINE

    Note

    In case of clutch fluid replacement, make sure that the old fluid is replaced in the clutch line between the master cylinder reservoir sub-assembly and the bleeder before bleeding.

      Connect a vinyl tube to the clutch release cylinder bleeder plug.

    2. Depress the clutch pedal 5 times, and then loosen the clutch release cylinder bleeder plug while the pedal is depressed (Step C).

    3. When fluid no longer comes out, tighten the clutch release cylinder bleeder plug, and then release the clutch pedal (Step D).

    4. Repeat Steps C and D until all the air in the fluid is completely bled out.

    5. Tighten the clutch release cylinder bleeder plug.

      Torque:
      7.8 N*m  { 80 kgf*cm, 69 in.*lbf }
    6. Depress the clutch pedal 10 times or more and confirm its operation.
