CLUTCH FLUID REPLACEMENT

Note

Immediately wash off any clutch fluid that comes into contact with any painted surfaces.

Tech Tips

If any work is done on the clutch system or if air in the clutch lines is suspected, bleed the air from the system.

PROCEDURE


  1. FILL CLUTCH FLUID

  2. REPLACE CLUTCH FLUID


    1. A004IB6

      Connect a vinyl tube to the clutch release cylinder bleeder plug.

    2. Depress the clutch pedal several times, and then loosen the clutch release cylinder bleeder plug with the pedal depressed (Step A).

    3. Depress the clutch pedal several times to force the clutch fluid out through the clutch release cylinder bleeder plug until the new clutch fluid starts coming out.

      Note

      Make sure that the master cylinder reservoir sub-assembly does not run out of clutch fluid.

    4. When the new clutch fluid comes out, tighten the clutch release cylinder bleeder plug with the pedal depressed.

      Torque:
      7.8 N*m  { 80 kgf*cm, 69 in.*lbf }

    5. Repeat the above procedure to bleed the air out of the clutch line for each wheel.

  3. INSPECT FOR CLUTCH FLUID
