FUEL INJECTOR(for Port Injection) REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Click here

  3. REMOVE CHAMBER ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  4. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER

    Click here

  5. REMOVE INJECTOR COVER (for Bank 1)

      Disengage the 4 clamps and separate the wire harness from the injector cover (for bank 1).

      Remove the 2 bolts and injector cover (for bank 1).

  6. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE (for Metal Type)

      Using SST, disconnect the No. 1 fuel hose from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly Click here.

  7. DISCONNECT NO. 3 FUEL HOSE (for Metal Type)

      Using SST, disconnect the No. 3 fuel hose from the fuel pipe Click here.

  8. DISCONNECT NO. 2 FUEL HOSE (for Metal Type)

      Remove the clamp and disconnect the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose from the fuel pipe.

  9. REMOVE INJECTOR COVER (for Bank 2)

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness clamp bracket from the injector cover (for bank 2).

    2. A004J75

      Remove the 2 bolts and injector cover (for bank 2).

  10. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE (for Clamp Type)

      Remove the clamp and disconnect the No. 1 fuel hose.

      Note


      • Check for dirt or other foreign matter on the parts to be disconnected and clean them if necessary.

      • Be careful not to splash the fuel.

      • Receive the fuel remaining inside the fuel hose with a container.

      • Check for dirt or other foreign matter on the parts to be disconnected and clean them if necessary.

  11. SEPARATE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Clamp Type)


    1. A004HOX

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

    2. Disconnect the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose and move the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly toward the front of the vehicle.

  12. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE (for Bank 2)

      Disconnect the 2 fuel injector assembly connectors.

    2. Disengage the clamp and separate the wire harness.

      Disconnect the fuel pump assembly connector.

    4. A004KY0

      Disconnect the No. 2 fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly from the fuel delivery pipe Click here.

    5. A004HJQ

      Remove the 2 bolts and fuel delivery pipe.

      Note

      When removing the fuel delivery pipe, hold the pipe by both ends and pull it straight upward.

  13. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR SEAL (for Bank 2)

      Remove the 2 fuel injector seals.

  14. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE (for Bank 1)

      Disconnect the 2 fuel injector assembly connectors.

    2. Disengage the clamp and separate the wire harness.

    3. Disconnect the No. 2 fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly from the fuel delivery pipe Click here.

    4. A004HTG

      Remove the 2 bolts and fuel delivery pipe.

      Note

      When removing the fuel delivery pipe, hold the pipe by both ends and pull it straight upward.

  15. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR SEAL (for Bank 1)

      Remove the 2 fuel injector seals.

  16. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 4 fuel injector assemblies from the fuel delivery pipe.

      Note

      For reinstallation, attach a tag or label to the injector shaft.

      Remove the fuel injector O-ring and fuel injector grommet from the fuel injector assembly.
