ENGINE UNIT REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE ENGINE HANGERS


    1. Remove the bolt and engine hanger.

  2. REMOVE GENERATOR COVER

    Click here

  3. REMOVE BELT GENERATOR COVER

    Click here

  4. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT

    Click here

  5. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts and generator assembly.

  6. REMOVE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE

    Click here

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  8. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  9. REMOVE COMPRESSOR WITH MAGNET CLUTCH

    Click here

  10. REMOVE INJECTOR COVER (for Bank 2)


    1. for Resin Intake Manifold:


      1. A004J75

        Remove the 2 bolts and injector cover.

    2. for Aluminum Intake Manifold:


      1. A004IEH

        Remove the 2 bolts and disengage the 2 guides, and then remove the injector cover.

  11. REMOVE INJECTOR COVER (for Bank 1)


    1. for Resin Intake Manifold:


      1. A004K56

        Remove the 2 bolts and injector cover.

    2. for Aluminum Intake Manifold:


      1. A004KIL

        Remove the 2 bolts and disengage the 2 guides, and then remove the injector cover.

  12. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    A004HOX

    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

    2. Disconnect the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose.

    3. A004HO4

      Remove the union bolt and gasket, and disconnect the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

  13. SEPARATE VENTILATION HOSE

    Click here

  14. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD


    1. A004J7D

      Disconnect the throttle body assembly connector.

    2. A004HXV

      Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses from the throttle body assembly.

      Disconnect the vacuum sensor connector.

      Disconnect the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly connector.

      Disengage the 2 clamps and disconnect the 4 connectors.

    6. Disconnect the wire harness.

      Disconnect the fuel pump connector.

        Remove the 6 bolts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets.

    9. for Aluminum Intake Manifold:

        Remove the 6 bolts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets.

  15. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL DELIVERY PIPE

  16. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE

  17. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE LH

    Click here

  18. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE RH

    Click here

  19. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  20. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR O-RING

    Click here

  21. REMOVE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  22. REMOVE VALVE LIFTER

    Click here

  23. REMOVE PUMP DRIVE CASE ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  24. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE


    1. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the ground wire harness.

    2. Disconnect each connector and clamp, and remove the engine wire.

  25. REMOVE NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE

      Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose.

  26. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE


    1. A004J4S

      Disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose.

  27. REMOVE NO. 3 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER HOSE (for Automatic Transmission)


    1. Disconnect the No. 3 transmission oil cooler hose.

  28. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE (for Manual Transmission)

    1. Loosen the hose clip and disconnect the water by-pass hose.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and the No. 1 water by-pass pipe.

  29. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE (for Automatic Transmission)

    1. Loosen the 2 hose clips and disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 water by-pass pipe.

  30. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 4 bolts and 4 ignition coil assemblies.
