CYLINDER HEAD GASKET REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE CAMSHAFT HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

  2. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH


    1. A004IO8E03

      Loosen the 6 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

    2. Lightly tap the cylinder head sub-assembly RH to separate it from the cylinder block (bank 1).

    3. Remove the cylinder head sub-assembly RH.

      Note

      Be careful not to scratch the mating surface of the cylinder head and cylinder block.

  3. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD GASKET


    1. Remove the cylinder head gasket.

  4. REMOVE CAMSHAFT HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

  5. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A004J7IE03

      Loosen the 6 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

    2. Lightly tap the cylinder head sub-assembly LH to separate it from the cylinder block (bank 2).

    3. Remove the cylinder head sub-assembly LH.

      Note

      Be careful not to scratch the mating surface of the cylinder head and cylinder block.

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD GASKET


    1. Remove the No. 2 cylinder head gasket.
