ROCKER PANEL MOULDING REASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. INSTALL NO. 1 SIDE MUDGUARD PROTECTOR

    Tech Tips

    When installing the No. 1 side mudguard protector, heat the body rocker panel moulding using a heat light.

    Standard
    Item Temperature
    Body Rocker Panel Moulding 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the body rocker panel moulding excessively.


    1. Clean the body rocker panel moulding surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the body rocker panel moulding surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the body rocker panel moulding.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

      Install a new No. 1 side mudguard protector.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the body rocker panel moulding.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the No. 1 side mudguard protector.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the No. 1 side mudguard protector as shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        Press the No. 1 side mudguard protector firmly to install it.

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR

    Tech Tips

    When installing the No. 2 rocker panel moulding protector, heat the body rocker panel moulding using a heat light.

    Body Rocker Panel Moulding 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the body rocker panel moulding excessively.


    1. Clean the body rocker panel moulding surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the body rocker panel moulding surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the body rocker panel moulding.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

      Install a new No. 2 rocker panel moulding protector.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the body rocker panel moulding.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the No. 2 rocker panel moulding protector.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the No. 2 rocker panel moulding protector as shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        Press the No. 2 rocker panel moulding protector firmly to install it.

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR

    When installing the No. 2 rocker panel moulding protector, heat the body rocker panel moulding using a heat light.

      3. Install the No. 2 rocker panel moulding protector as shown in the illustration.

        Press the No. 2 rocker panel moulding protector firmly to install it.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR

    When installing the No. 1 rocker panel moulding protector, heat the body rocker panel moulding using a heat light.

      Install a new No. 1 rocker panel moulding protector.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the body rocker panel moulding.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the No. 1 rocker panel moulding protector.

      3. Install the No. 1 rocker panel moulding protector as shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        Press the No. 1 rocker panel moulding protector firmly to install it.

  5. INSTALL BODY SIDE NAME PLATE

    Tech Tips


    • Use the same procedure for both body side name plates.

    • When installing the body side name plate, heat the vehicle body and body side name plate using a heat light.

    Standard
    Item Temperature
    Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Body Side Name Plate 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the vehicle body or body side name plate excessively.


    1. Clean the vehicle body surface.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

      Install a new body side name plate.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the vehicle body and a new body side name plate.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the body side name plate.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the body side name plate in the position shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        Press the body side name plate firmly to install it.
