OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR GLASS INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR LH

      Component without harness connected

      (Outer Mirror LH)

      Check the mirror heater.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 - 2 25°C (77°F) 3.5 to 4.9 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror LH.

      *b EC Mirror Connector

      w/ Blind Spot Monitor:

      Note

      Do not apply auxiliary battery voltage to the EC mirror connector.


      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the terminals of the connector, and check the blind spot monitor indicator operation.

        OK
        Tester Connection Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2

        		 Blind spot monitor indicator comes on

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror LH.

    3. Check the EC mirror operation.


      1. Connect 1.5 V dry-cell battery.

        (Outer Mirror LH)

        Apply 1.5 V battery voltage and check the EC mirror operation.

        Note

        Do not apply a voltage of 1.5 V or higher.

        OK
        Measurement Connection Specified Condition

        Positive (+) end of the battery → Terminal 1

        Negative (-) end of the battery → Terminal 2

        		 Mirror surface becomes dark

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror LH.

  2. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR RH

      (Outer Mirror RH)

      Check the mirror heater.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 - 2 25°C (77°F) 3.5 to 4.9 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror RH.

      1. Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the terminals of the connector, and check the blind spot monitor indicator operation.

    3. Check the EC mirror operation.


      1. Connect 1.5 V dry-cell battery.

        Do not apply a voltage of 1.5 V or higher.

        		 Mirror surface becomes dark

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror RH.
