If the auto up/down function does not operate, the cause may be one or more of the following:

  • If the power window regulator motor assembly has been replaced with a new one, initialize the power window control system Click here.

  • If the power window regulator motor assembly and door window regulator sub-assembly have been removed and installed, or if the power window regulator motor assembly was reused when a door glass or door glass run was replaced, initialize the power window control system Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (RR DOOR P/W AUTO SW)


    1. Use the Data List to check if the rear power window regulator switch RH is functioning properly Click here.

      RR-Door Motor
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      RR Door P/W Auto SW Rear power window RH auto up/down signal / ON or OFF

      ON: Rear power window switch RH auto up/down operated

      OFF: Rear power window switch RH not operated

      On GTS screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

    INSPECT REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH Click here

  2. PERFORM INITIALIZATION


    1. Initialize the rear power window regulator motor assembly RH Click here.

    2. Check that the rear door power window RH moves when the auto up and down functions of the rear power window regulator switch assembly RH are operated Click here.

      OK
      Rear RH side auto up and down functions are normal.

    REPLACE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH Click here

  3. INSPECT REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH

      Remove the rear power window regulator switch assembly RH Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      4 (AUTO) - 5 (GND) Auto up/down operation Below 1 Ω
      4 (AUTO) - 5 (GND) Not operated 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH - REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the R6 rear power window regulator switch assembly RH connector.

    2. Disconnect the R1 rear power window regulator motor assembly RH connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R6-4 (AUTO) - R1-4 (AUTO) Always Below 1 Ω
      R6-5 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      R6-4 (AUTO) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
