The ODO/TRIP display of the combination meter changes each time the trip switch is pressed.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (TRIP SWITCH)


    1. Use the Data List to check the trip switch Click here.

      Combination Meter
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      ODO/TRIP Change SW ODO/TRIP switch/OFF or ON OFF: ODO/TRIP switch released -
      ON: ODO/TRIP switch pushed
      OK
      The value displayed on the GTS changes in accordance with the actual ODO/TRIP switch operation.

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Click here

  2. INSPECT TRIP SWITCH


    1. Remove the trip switch Click here.

    2. Inspect the trip switch Click here.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - TRIP SWITCH AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the N40 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the N8 trip switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N40-37 (RSET) - N8-2 (A/B) Always Below 1 Ω
      N8-5 (E) - Body ground
      N40-37 (RSET) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
