  • Use this procedure to troubleshoot the engine immobiliser system.

  2. INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE


    1. Measure the auxiliary battery voltage.

      Standard voltage
      11 to 14 V

      • If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the auxiliary battery before proceeding to the next step.

      Tech Tips

      A simple method to determine whether the auxiliary battery is discharged is to operate the horn.

  3. TURN POWER SWITCH ON (IG)

    Tech Tips

    If the power switch cannot be turned on (IG), communication with the GTS can be confirmed by connecting the GTS to the vehicle and turning a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the GTS and vehicle begins.

    1. Use the GTS to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.
