G-BOOK SYSTEM (w/o Telematics Transceiver) PRECAUTION


  1. PRECAUTIONS FOR G-BOOK


    1. After replacing the multi-media module receiver assembly and performing vehicle contract setting, perform the vehicle contract setting to resume the G-BOOK service Click here.

    2. On this model, the multi-media module receiver assembly functions as the G-BOOK device and has the G-BOOK ID.

    3. If the hard disk drive is replaced on vehicles that have a contract for the G-BOOK service, perform "Download necessary data" after installing a new hard disk drive Click here.

    4. Necessary data for the G-BOOK system is stored in the hard disk drive that is built into the multi-media module receiver assembly Click here.

    5. If an accidental operation is made, the customer may be charged a fee for the phone call.

  2. IN THE FOLLOWING SITUATIONS, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO CONNECT TO THE G-BOOK SERVICE


    1. "Bluetooth" connection is interrupted.

    2. A "Bluetooth" connection setting has not been performed.

    3. Services that limit receiving/making a call, such as drive mode, dial lock, call prohibition, voice mail or select call are used.

    4. The cellular phone cannot be used due to non-payment of the cellular phone, etc.

    5. A cellular phone that cannot access the Internet is being used.

  3. PRECAUTIONS FOR MULTI-MEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY


    1. An HDD is built into the multi-media module receiver assembly to store map and other data which are used for the navigation system. Therefore, care must be taken with the following points when handling it.

      1. Do not apply any vibration or shock to the multi-media module receiver assembly.

        Note


        • Do not drop or subject the multi-media module receiver assembly to severe impacts.

        • Do not use the multi-media module receiver assembly if it has been dropped or subjected to any severe impacts.

      2. Do not remove the multi-media module receiver assembly if there is a risk that condensation may occur.

        Note

        If the temperature of the multi-media module receiver assembly changes rapidly, condensation may occur inside the unit. This may cause a malfunction of the HDD. Therefore, when the multi-media module receiver assembly is removed from the instrument panel, it needs to be kept inside the vehicle or in an environment with an equivalent temperature and humidity.

      3. Take measures to prevent static electricity.

        Note

        Touching the terminals of a connector can cause static electricity to be transmitted to the internal circuits. This may cause a malfunction of the HDD.

      4. Keep the multi-media module receiver assembly away from magnets or magnetized items.

        Note

        Keep the multi-media module receiver assembly away from speakers, motors, magnetized tools and other magnetic items.

  4. PRECAUTIONS FOR HARD DISK DRIVE (HDD)


    1. The map data for the navigation system is stored on the Hard Disk Drive (HDD). Make sure to follow the following instructions when replacing the HDD.

      Note

      Data downloaded by the customer may be stored on the HDD. This data will be lost when the HDD is replaced. Make sure to warn the customer that the data will be lost and obtain their consent prior to replacing the HDD.


      1. The HDD must only be replaced with a new one. Do not install a used HDD from another vehicle.

        Note

        The multi-media module receiver assembly can only recognize a new HDD.

        Do not touch the HDD cover.

        Note

        When removing or installing the HDD, only hold it by the areas shown in the illustration.
