DESCRIPTION

The parking brake cable tightening/loosening operation is performed by the parking brake actuator's motor.

Both of following conditions are met:


  1. Power switch is on (IG), or when power switch is off, electric parking brake switch assembly lock control is operating

  2. Power supply voltage and +B voltage are normal, but motor circuit is malfunctioning for approx. 1 sec.


  • Parking brake with bracket actuator assembly

  • Wire harness or connector

  • Parking brake ECU assembly

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

  • If the parking brake ECU assembly or parking brake with bracket actuator assembly is replaced, perform the "Reset Memory" and "Acquire Tension Sensor Zero Point" procedures Click here.

  • Before disconnecting connectors or fuses, turn the power switch off and wait 20 seconds or more.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING BRAKE ECU - PARKING BRAKE WITH BRACKET ACTUATOR)


    1. Disconnect the U36 parking brake ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the U40 parking brake with bracket actuator assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U36-1 (M-) - U40-7 (M-) Always Below 1 Ω
      U36-1 (M-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      U36-2 (M+) - U40-8 (M+) Always Below 1 Ω
      U36-2 (M+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Disconnect the U40 parking brake with bracket actuator assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
