BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR REMOVAL

  • Use the same procedure for the RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LHD vehicles.

Note

While the auxiliary battery is connected, even if the power switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or any door courtesy switch is turned on. Therefore, when servicing brake system components, do not depress the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the auxiliary battery is connected.


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT


    1. Remove the luggage compartment floor mat.

  3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER LH


    1. Remove the luggage compartment trim cover.

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal to disable the SRS system.

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  5. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the sensor connector.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and sensor.

      Note

      Do not drop the sensor. If the sensor has been dropped replace the sensor with a new one.
