  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the front seatback frame sub-assembly LH to the front seat adjuster LH with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL SEATBACK SPRING DAMPER LH


    1. Install the seatback spring damper LH with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      14 N*m  { 143 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL FRONT SEAT WIRE

    A01FVIW

    1. Attach the 8 wire harness clamps to install the front seat wire.

    2. Connect the ground wire with the nut.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

    3. Connect the 3 connectors.

    4. Attach the 7 wire harness clamps.

  4. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SPRING ASSEMBLY

    1. Attach the 4 hooks B to install the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly.

    2. Attach the 4 hooks A.

    3. Attach the 4 wire harness clamps.

  5. INSTALL SEAT CUSHION CLIMATE CONTROL DUCT LH


    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the seat cushion climate control duct LH to the seat climate control blower LH.

  6. INSTALL SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH


    1. Attach the 2 hooks to install the seat climate control blower LH together with the seat cushion climate control duct LH to the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly.

    3. Install the 2 screws.

    4. Connect the connector.

  7. INSTALL SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Attach the claw to install the seat heater control sub-assembly LH.

  8. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH


    1. Attach the 2 hooks to install the reclining adjuster inside cover LH.

    2. Attach the guide and install the screw.

  9. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  10. INSTALL POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the position control ECU assembly with the 3 bolts.

    2. Connect the 4 connectors.

    3. Attach the 2 clamps to install the front seat wire connector housing.

    4. Connect the connector and attach the wire harness clamps.

  11. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER


    1. Install the reclining adjuster inside cover.

  12. INSTALL POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Temporarily install the power seat motor assembly with the bolt.

      Check that the hole in the front seat adjuster assembly LH and the drive portion of the power seat motor assembly are aligned as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      If the reclining connecting pipe is pushed in when the front seat adjuster assembly LH hole and power seat motor assembly drive portion are not aligned, the power seat motor assembly drive portion will be damaged.

      Tech Tips

      If the front seat adjuster assembly LH hole and power seat motor assembly drive portion are not aligned, apply auxiliary battery voltage to the power seat motor assembly and align the drive portion of the power seat motor assembly with the hole of the front seat adjuster assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

      Insert the reclining connecting pipe into the hole of the front seat adjuster assembly LH and tap it in using a plastic-faced hammer until the push nut makes contact with the front seat adjuster assembly LH.

      Place a wooden block as shown in the illustration and lay the seat down so that the reclining connecting pipe contacts the wooden block.

      Attach the 5 claws to temporarily install the push nut to the reclining connecting pipe.

      Attach an 8 mm offset wrench, and then tap the wrench using a plastic-faced hammer until the push nut contacts the front seat adjuster assembly LH to install the push nut.

    7. Try to move the reclining connecting pipe left and right and check that there is no rattle.

    9. Tighten the bolt.

      Torque:
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }

    10. Connect the connector.

  13. INSTALL INNER SEAT BRACKET ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the inner seat bracket assembly LH with the 2 nuts.

  14. INSTALL FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH

    CAUTION:


    • The nuts must not be reused.

    • Make sure that the front seatback frame sub-assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.


    1. Install the front seatback airbag assembly with 2 new nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    2. Attach the connector clamp to connect it to the front seatback frame sub-assembly.

    3. Connect the airbag connector.

      Note

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

        While holding the outer housing, be sure to engage the connector until they are locked and check that the outer housing is in its original position (when locking, make sure that a click sound can be heard).

  15. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK SUPPORT LH


    1. Install the front seatback support LH with the nut.

      Torque:
      21 N*m  { 214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

    2. Install both paddles of the front seatback support LH with the 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

    3. Connect the connector.

  16. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY

    1. Slide the front seatback adjuster to attach the guide as shown in the illustration and install it.

    2. Install the 2 bolts.

    3. Install the left and right ends of the front seatback adjuster assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      14 N*m  { 143 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Make sure that the left and right ends of the front seatback adjuster assembly do not become detached from the motor.

    4. Connect the connector.

  17. INSTALL LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Slide the lumbar support adjuster assembly LH downward to attach the 2 hooks and install it.

    2. Install the 2 bolts.

    3. Attach the 2 clips and install the 2 springs.

    4. Attach the 2 cable clamps.

    5. Connect the 2 connectors.

  18. INSTALL REAR AIR DUCT LH


    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the rear air duct LH to the seatback climate control blower LH.

  19. INSTALL SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH


    1. Attach the hook to install the seatback climate control blower LH together with the rear air duct LH.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

    3. Attach the 2 claws to connect the rear air duct LH to the lumbar support adjuster assembly LH.

    4. Connect the connector.

  20. INSTALL NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Install the No. 1 interior illumination light assembly with the screw.

  21. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER

      Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seatback cover to the separate type front seatback pad with new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.

  22. INSTALL SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD


    1. Install the seatback cover with pad.

      Attach the seatback cover bracket with the 2 nuts

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

      CAUTION:

      After the seatback cover bracket is attached, make sure the seatback cover bracket is not twisted.

    3. Attach the wire harness clamp.

    4. Attach the 4 claws to install the 2 front seat headrest supports.

    5. Attach the hooks.

  23. INSTALL FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Shoulder Switch)


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. A01FSBZ

      Attach the 2 claws to install the front power seat switch assembly RH.

    3. Attach the wire harness clamp.

  24. INSTALL SEAT CUSHION SPRING DAMPER


    1. Install the seat cushion spring damper with the 2 nuts.

  25. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER (except Ottoman)

    1. Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seat cushion cover to the separate type front seat cushion pad with new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

    1. Set the seat cushion cover with pad in place.

    2. Attach the hooks to install the seat cushion cover with pad.

    4. Using hog ring pliers, install new hog rings.

      Connect the connector.

    7. Install the 4 clips.

    8. Connect the connector and install the connector lock to the seat heater control sub-assembly LH connector.

    9. Connect the 2 connectors.

  28. INSTALL FRONT SEAT LOWER CUSHION SHIELD LH


    1. Attach the clip to install the front seat lower cushion shield LH.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  29. INSTALL FRONT SEAT LEG COVER LH


    1. Attach the clip to install the front seat leg cover LH.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  30. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK BOARD

    1. Slide the front seatback board upward to attach the 2 hooks and install it.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  31. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Slide the front seatback board sub-assembly LH upward to attach the 2 hooks and install it.

    2. Attach the 2 claws.

    3. Open the lower part of the front seatback board sub-assembly LH and install the 2 screws.

    4. Install the clip.

    5. Attach the hook to connect the rubber band.

    6. Connect the rubber band with the clip.

  32. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

      Install the front seat inner belt assembly with the nut.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not allow the anchor part of the front seat inner belt assembly to overlap the protruding part of the front seat adjuster.

    2. Connect each connector and each clamp.

  33. INSTALL SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (for Driver Side)


    1. Fully insert the pin of the seat position airbag sensor into the seat frame, and then temporarily install the seat position airbag sensor with the "TORX" screw.

      Adjust the distance from the seat position airbag sensor to the bottom surface of the lower rail to 32.3 to 32.5 mm (1.272 to 1.279 in.) as shown in the illustration.

    3. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the "TORX" screw to install the seat position airbag sensor.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

      Note


      • If the seat position airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the seat position airbag sensor with a new one.

      • When installing the seat position airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with or is pinched between other parts.

      • Make sure that the distance from the seat position airbag sensor to the bottom surface of the lower rail is 32.3 to 32.5 mm (1.272 to 1.279 in.).

    4. Connect the connector.

    5. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the seat position airbag sensor.

  34. INSTALL UPPER SEAT TRACK RAIL COVER LH


    1. Attach the clip to install the upper seat track rail cover LH.

    2. Install the screw.

  35. INSTALL POWER SEAT SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the power seat switch assembly to the switch bezel.

    2. Install the 3 nuts and 3 screws.

  36. INSTALL FRONT POWER ADJUSTER SHIELD LH


    1. Install 2 new clips to the front power adjuster shield LH.

    2. Install the switch bezel to the front power adjuster shield LH with the 4 screws.

    3. Connect the connector.

    4. Attach the 2 clips to install the front power adjuster shield LH.

    5. Install the 2 screws.

  37. INSTALL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB LH (for Reclining)

    1. Attach the 3 claws to install the power seat switch knob LH.

  38. INSTALL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB LH (for Slide)

  39. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD LH


    1. Attach the hook to install the front seat inner cushion shield LH.

    2. Attach the 3 guides and 3 hooks.

    3. Install the screw.

  40. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH


    1. Attach the hook to install the front seat cushion shield LH.

    2. Attach the 2 guides and 3 hooks.

    3. Install the 2 screws.

  41. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER NO. 1 CUSHION SHIELD LH


    1. Attach the 2 clips and 2 claws to install the front seat inner No. 1 cushion shield LH.

    2. Install the screw.

  42. INSTALL SEAT ADJUSTER COVER CAP LH


    1. Install the 2 seat adjuster cover caps.
