DRIVER MONITOR ECU INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


  1. INSTALL DRIVER MONITOR ECU ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the driver monitor ECU assembly with the nut.

      Torque:
      8.5 N*m  { 87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf }

    2. Connect the connector.

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RHD)


    1. Install the No. 2 air duct sub-assembly with the screw.

  3. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the power switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. A01FTP7

      Connect the airbag connector to the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

      Note

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    4. Push in the lock to install the airbag connector.

    5. Attach the 3 claws to connect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly to the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

    6. Temporarily install the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly with the hook and pin.

    7. Install the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Confirm that the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly is installed securely without any excessive gaps and is not protruding outward.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the connectors.

    2. Attach the 9 clips and guide to install the No. 1 instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.

  5. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH (for LHD)


    1. Attach the 5 clips and 2 guides to install the instrument panel finish panel end LH.

  6. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH (for RHD)


    1. Attach the 5 clips and 2 guides to install the instrument panel finish panel end RH.

  7. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL


    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Attach the 9 clips and guide to install the center instrument cluster finish panel.

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the connectors and attach the clamp.

    2. Attach the 2 claws to install the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

    3. Install the 3 screws <A>.

  9. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Attach the 4 clips to install the No. 1 instrument panel garnish sub-assembly.

  10. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH (for LHD)


    1. Attach the 7 clips to install the instrument side panel LH.

  11. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH (for RHD)


    1. w/ Airbag Cut Off Switch:


      1. Connect the connector.

    2. Attach the 7 clips to install the instrument side panel RH.

  12. CONNECT CABLE TO AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  13. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER LH


    1. Install the luggage compartment trim cover.

  14. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT


    1. Install the luggage compartment floor mat.

  15. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
