PRE-CRASH SAFETY SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM


  1. INITIAL CHECK


    1. 2 seconds or more after turning the power switch off, turning the power switch on (IG) causes the pre-crash safety system to perform an initial check for approximately 3 seconds.

    2. If a malfunction is detected in the initial check, after the 3 seconds initial check, the combination meter assembly's multi-information display displays "Check PCS system".

      Tech Tips

      "Check PCS system" is displayed when a pre-crash safety system malfunction has been detected and a DTC is output.

  2. CONSTANT CHECK


    1. After the 3 seconds initial check, the seat belt control ECU and driving support ECU control the system, and perform a constant check to monitor the system.

    2. If a malfunction is detected in the constant check, the combination meter assembly's multi-information display displays "Check PCS system" or "PCS not Available Now".

      Tech Tips

      "PCS not Available Now" is displayed during the following conditions: 1) the seat belt control ECU's overheat protection function has operated; 2) due to bad weather, the radar cannot detect obstacles; 3) foreign matter is attached to the grille cover or millimeter wave radar sensor assembly.
