WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER


    1. A01FUJM

      Remove the 4 clips and engine room side cover.

  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL


    1. A01FTUX

      Remove the 7 clips and cool air intake duct seal.

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET


    1. A01FPYO

      Remove the bolt and No. 1 air cleaner inlet.

  4. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER


    1. A01FVWF

      Remove the 13 screws, 3 clips and engine under cover.

  5. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE


    1. A01FSFT

      Remove the 4 bolts, and then turn the clip and remove the front suspension member brace.

      Tech Tips

      Do not remove the clip from the front suspension member brace.

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER


    1. A01FRKR

      Remove the 4 screws, 2 grommets and No. 2 engine under cover.

  7. DRAIN COOLANT (for Inverter)

    Note


    • Do not reuse the drained coolant because it may contain foreign objects.

    • Collect the drained coolant and measure its volume to establish a benchmark. When adding coolant, make sure to add more coolant than the measured amount.


    1. Remove the reservoir tank cap.

      CAUTION:

      To avoid the danger of being burned, do not remove the reservoir tank cap while the coolant for the inverter is still hot.

    2. A01FVYD

      Using a 10 mm hexagon wrench, remove the drain plug indicated in the illustration and drain the coolant.

      CAUTION:

      Use caution when handling coolant immediately after driving or in summer because it may be hot.

      Disconnect the No. 5 inverter cooling hose.

    4. Install the plug with a new gasket.

      Torque:
      39 N*m  { 398 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf }

    5. Connect the No. 5 inverter cooling hose.

  8. REMOVE HV WATER PUMP BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Detach the clamp and disconnect the connector.

    2. A01FVRE

      for LHD:

      Disconnect the 2 water hoses.

      Note

      Apply insulating tape to the pipe and in the disconnected hose or cover the pipe and hose with plastic bags to prevent entry of foreign matter.

    3. A01FSXN

      for RHD:

      Detach the clamp and disconnect the 2 water hoses.

      Note

      Apply insulating tape to the connectors of the wire harness and inverter water pump with motor to prevent the entry of coolant.

    4. A01FSG5

      Remove the bolt and HV water pump bracket.

  9. REMOVE INVERTER WATER PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. A01FVEB

      Remove the 3 bolts.
