An open or ground short in the HV gate block signal circuit when the gate is operating

When the HV gate block function check is performed (when the power switch is turned from on (READY) to off), the inverter voltage (VH) drops and current flows in the inverter. (Either generator (MG1) or motor (MG2) is malfunctioning.)

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Tech Tips

After the repair, clear the DTCs and perform the following procedure to check that DTCs are not output.


  1. Wait for 30 seconds or more with the vehicle stopped, the power switch on (READY) and the shift lever in P. Then turn the power switch off and wait for 60 seconds or more.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check for DTCs.

    5. Turn the power switch off.
