INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Tech Tips

After the repair, clear the DTCs and perform the following procedure to check that DTCs are not output.


  1. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 5 seconds or more.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.

    4. Check for DTCs.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      P0851-775 only is output. A
      P0705-757 is also output. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

  2. CHECK SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR


    1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      A36-11 (N) - Body ground

      Power switch on (IG)

      11 to 14 V

      Power switch on (IG)

      Shift lever in any position except N

      1.2 to 2.8 V
    3. Turn the power switch off.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)


    1. Disconnect the F65 shift lever position sensor connector.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      F65-7 (+B) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Note

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the shift lever position sensor connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    4. Turn the power switch off.

    5. Reconnect the F65 shift lever position sensor connector.

  5. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR


    1. Disconnect the F65 shift lever position sensor connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      7 (+B) - 2 (N) Shift lever in N Below 1 Ω
      Shift lever in any position except N 4.2 to 5.2 kΩ
    3. Reconnect the F65 shift lever position sensor connector.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR - POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU)


    1. Disconnect the F65 shift lever position sensor connector.

    2. Disconnect the A35 power management control ECU connector.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    4. Reconnect the A35 power management control ECU connector.

    5. Reconnect the F65 shift lever position sensor connector.
