HYBRID TRANSMISSION FLUID REPLACEMENT


  1. REPLACE HYBRID TRANSMISSION FLUID


    1. Lift the vehicle. [*1]

      Note

      Set the vehicle on a lift so that the vehicle is kept level when it is lifted up (make sure that the tilt angle from the front to rear of the vehicle is within +/-1°).

    2. Remove the front suspension member brace Click here.

    3. Remove the No. 2 engine under cover Click here.

    4. A01FVIH

      Remove the drain plug and gasket, and drain the ATF. [*2]

    5. Temporarily install the gasket and drain plug. [*3]

      Tech Tips

      Reuse the old gasket. A new gasket will be installed in step [*10].

    6. A01FRD9

      Disconnect the oil cooler hose. [*4]

      Note

      Do not touch any high temperature parts, such as the exhaust pipe.

      Tech Tips

      Cover the pipe that the oil cooler hose connects to with a plastic bag or tape to prevent fluid from dripping.

    7. A01FVTX

      Add fluid to the disconnected oil cooler hose until fluid comes out of the overflow tube. [*5]

      Note

      Use Toyota Genuine ATF WS.

      Tech Tips

      Specified amount of fluid is 5.0 liters (5.3 US qts, 4.4 Imp qts).

    8. A01FRD9

      Connect the oil cooler hose. [*6]

    9. Lower the vehicle. [*7]

    10. Turn the power switch on (READY) wait for 30 seconds. [*8]

    11. Turn the power switch off. [*9]

    12. Repeat steps [*1] to [*9].

    13. Repeat steps [*1] to [*2].

    14. Install a new gasket and the drain plug. [*10]

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }
    15. Repeat steps [*4] to [*7].

    16. Check the fluid temperature Click here.

    17. Adjust the fluid level Click here.

    18. Install the No. 2 engine under cover Click here.

    19. Install the front suspension member brace Click here.

    20. Lower the vehicle.

    21. Operation complete.
