COOLING FAN MOTOR REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER

      Remove the 4 clips and engine room side cover.

  2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

      Remove the 7 clips and cool air intake duct seal.

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET

      Remove the bolt and No. 1 air cleaner inlet.

  4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Place both hands on the sides of the cover as shown in the illustration, lift the cover to detach the 2 clips near the front in the order shown in the illustration, and then lift the cover further to detach the rear clip and remove the cover.

      Note

      If the cover is lifted rearward or forward and to the right or left at the same time, the cover may be damaged.

  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

      Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector.

    2. Disconnect the clamp from the air cleaner.

    3. A01FS2N

      Disconnect the VSV hose.

    4. A01FRIA

      Disconnect the 4 clamps.

    5. Remove the hose clamp and air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose.

  6. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    CAUTION:

    Do not remove the radiator cap or reservoir tank cap while the engine and radiator are still hot. Pressurized hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.


    1. Loosen the radiator drain cock plug.

    2. Remove the reservoir tank cap and drain the coolant.

      Tech Tips

      Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the local regulations.

    3. Loosen the 2 cylinder block drain cock plugs and drain the coolant from the engine.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE

  8. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK

      Detach the clamp, move the 2 hose clamps and remove the radiator reservoir tank hose.

    2. Detach the clamp, move the hose clamp and disconnect the reservoir tank outlet hose.

    3. Disconnect the wire harness clamp and remove the 2 bolts and radiator reservoir tank.

  9. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE

      Detach the clamp and disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose from the fan shroud.

  10. DISCONNECT NO. 2 ENGINE ROOM WIRE


    1. A01FRN0E01

      Disconnect the 6 wire harness clamps, connector and No. 2 engine room wire.

  11. DISCONNECT NO. 2 OIL COOLER OUTLET HOSE


    1. A01FUGJ

      Detach the flexible hose clamp to disconnect No. 2 oil cooler outlet hose.

  12. REMOVE FAN SHROUD


    1. A01FQAD

      Remove the 2 bolts and detach the claw on the upper part of the fan shroud.

    2. Detach the 2 claws on the lower part of the fan shroud and remove the fan shroud.

  13. REMOVE COOLING FAN ECU

      Disconnect the 3 clamps and 2 connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 screws and cooling fan ECU.

  14. REMOVE FAN


    1. A01FVSI

      Remove the nut and fan.

  15. REMOVE NO. 2 FAN


    1. A01FQE0

      Remove the nut and No. 2 fan.

  16. REMOVE COOLING FAN MOTOR


    1. A01FVU6

      Remove the 3 screws and cooling fan motor.

  17. REMOVE NO. 2 COOLING FAN MOTOR


    1. A01FTUR

      Remove the 3 screws and No. 2 cooling fan motor.
