RADIATOR REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER


  2. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      A01FVNL Areas to be held when lifting the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly

      Place both hands on either side of the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly as shown in the illustration and detach the left and right side clips (1 and 2) near the front of the cover. Then, lift up the cover to detach the clip (3) on the rear side and remove the cover.

      Note


      • If the left and right sides and front and back sides of the cover are lifted up at the same time, the cover may be damaged.

      • If the procedures are not followed exactly, the clip on the rear side of the cover may be damaged.

      • If you attempt to remove the cover with only one of the front clips detached, the cover may be damaged.

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET

      Remove the bolt and No. 1 air cleaner inlet.

  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH NO. 2 AIR CLEANER HOSE

      Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the wire harness clamp from the air cleaner cap with No. 2 air cleaner hose.

    3. Detach the 4 clamps.

    4. Loosen the hose clamp to remove the air cleaner cap with No. 2 air cleaner hose.

  6. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER

      Remove the 13 screws, 3 clips and engine under cover.

  7. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    CAUTION:

    Do not remove the water filler cap sub-assembly or reservoir tank cap while the engine and radiator assembly are still hot. Pressurized hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.

      Remove the 3 screws and No. 4 center engine under cover.

      Install a vinyl tube to the radiator drain cock on the radiator side.

    3. Loosen the radiator drain cock sub-assembly.

    4. Remove the reservoir tank cap and water filler cap sub-assembly. Then drain the engine coolant.

      Tech Tips

      Collect the engine coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.

  8. REMOVE HOOD LOCK RELEASE LEVER PROTECTOR


    1. Disconnect the connector and detach the 2 clamps.

      Remove the 2 clips and hood lock release lever protector.

  9. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

      Detach the clamp to disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly.

  10. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

      Remove the 3 bolts.

    2. A01FVLT

      Remove the hood lock from the hood lock control cable.

  11. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

      Remove the 3 bolts.

    2. A01FSV7

      Remove the hood lock from the hood lock control cable.

  12. REMOVE RADIATOR HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Slide the 2 clamps and remove the radiator hose sub-assembly from the water outlet sub-assembly and radiator assembly.

  13. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK ASSEMBLY

      Detach the clamp to disconnect the radiator reservoir tank hose from the fan shroud.

    2. Slide the 2 clamps and remove the radiator reservoir tank hose from the radiator reservoir tank assembly and radiator assembly.

    3. Detach the clamp to disconnect the reservoir tank outlet hose from the fan shroud.

    4. Slide the clamp and disconnect the reservoir tank outlet hose from the radiator reservoir tank assembly.

    5. Detach the clamp to disconnect the No. 2 engine room wire from the radiator reservoir tank assembly.

    6. Remove the 2 bolts and radiator reservoir tank assembly.

  14. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Detach the clamp to disconnect the reservoir tank outlet hose from the fan shroud.

    2. Detach the No. 2 radiator hose clamp to disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose sub-assembly from fan shroud.

    3. Slide the clamp and disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose sub-assembly from the radiator assembly.

    4. Remove the bolt to disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose sub-assembly from the fan shroud.

    5. Remove the No. 2 radiator hose clamp.

  15. DISCONNECT NO. 2 OIL COOLER OUTLET HOSE

      Slide the clamp and disconnect the No. 2 oil cooler outlet hose from the radiator assembly.

  16. DISCONNECT NO. 2 OIL COOLER INLET HOSE

      Disengage the clamp and disconnect the No. 2 oil cooler inlet hose from the No. 1 flexible hose clamp.

    2. Remove the No. 1 flexible hose clamp from the radiator assembly.

    3. Slide the clamp and disconnect the No. 2 oil cooler inlet hose from the radiator assembly.

  17. DISCONNECT NO. 2 ENGINE ROOM WIRE


    1. A01FTN7

      Disconnect the cooling fan ECU connector.

    2. Detach the 6 wire harness clamps to disconnect the No. 2 engine room wire.

  18. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER (w/ Cover)

      Detach the claw and remove the 2 screws to disconnect the hood lock control cable cover.

  19. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT

      Disconnect the 3 connectors.

    2. Detach the 5 wire harness clamps to disconnect the wire harness from the upper radiator support.

    3. A01FVDX

      Remove the 5 bolts and upper radiator support.

  20. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER (w/ Cover)

      Detach the guide and remove the hood lock control cable cover.

  21. SEPARATE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 4 bolts to separate the cooler condenser assembly from the radiator assembly.

  22. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

      Remove the radiator assembly from the vehicle together with the fan shroud.

      Note

      Do not allow the radiator assembly to interfere with other parts.

    2. Remove the 2 radiator support cushions and 2 lower radiator supports from the radiator assembly.

  23. REMOVE FAN SHROUD

      Remove the 2 bolts and detach the claw on the upper part of the fan shroud.

    2. Detach the 2 claws on the lower part of the fan shroud to remove the fan shroud.
