FRONT BUMPER (for Sport Package) INSTALLATION

Tech Tips

  1. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH


    1. Install the front wheel opening extension pad with the 4 screws.

  2. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  3. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH


    1. Attach the claw to install the front bumper side retainer.

    2. Install the screw.

  4. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  5. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT


    1. Install the front bumper reinforcement with the 6 bolts.

      Torque:
      29 N*m  { 300 kgf*cm, 22 ft.*lbf }

    2. Install the 2 clips.

    3. Attach the clamp to install the thermistor.

  6. INSTALL HEADLIGHT WASHER HOSE (w/ Headlight Cleaner System)


    1. Attach the 4 clamps to install the headlight washer hose.

    2. Connect the headlight washer hose to the headlight washer tank.

      Tech Tips

      Make sure that the headlight cleaner hose is not twisted.

  7. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER PAD (for Type A)

    Tech Tips

    When installing the front bumper pad, heat the front bumper energy absorber using a heat light.

    Standard
    Item Temperature
    Front Bumper Energy Absorber 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the front bumper energy absorber excessively.


    1. When using a new front bumper energy absorber:


      1. Clean the surface of a new front bumper energy absorber.

      2. Using a heat light, heat the front bumper energy absorber surface.

    2. When reusing the front bumper energy absorber:


      1. Using a heat light, heat the front bumper energy absorber surface.

      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the front bumper energy absorber.

      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

      Install a new front bumper pad.


      1. Using a heat light, heat the front bumper energy absorber.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the face of the front bumper pad.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the front bumper pad as shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        Press the front bumper pad firmly to install it.

  8. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER


    1. Install the front bumper energy absorber.

  9. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER


    1. w/ Fog Light:


      1. Connect the 2 fog light connectors.

    2. w/ Headlight Cleaner System:


      1. Connect the 2 headlight washer hoses.

        Tech Tips

        Make sure that the headlight cleaner hose is not twisted.

    3. w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System:


      1. Connect the No. 4 engine room wire.

    4. Attach the 10 claws to install the front bumper cover.

    5. Install the 5 clips.

      Install the 2 pin hold clips as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the pin hold clips on the other side.

    7. Install the 2 screws.

    8. Install the 8 screws.

    9. w/ Headlight Cleaner System:


      1. Fill the washer jar with washer fluid.

  10. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL


    1. Install the cool air intake duct seal with the 7 clips.

  11. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER


    1. Install the engine room side cover with the 4 clips.

  12. ADJUST FOG LIGHT AIMING
